Catherine McCarron is an associate in the Business, Tax and Estate Planning and Real Estate Law Groups. She concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, guardianship, conservatorship and estate administration. In addition, Catherine counsels clients with regard to the purchase, sale and leasing of commercial and residential real estate, including borrower and lender representation for secured real estate and asset-based financing transactions. Catherine teaches Estate Planning as an adjunct professor at Suffolk University Law School. She is also a licensed real estate broker in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Catherine is proud to assist veterans at the Soldier's Home in Chelsea, Massachusetts, as a guardian and conservator.  She offers these fiduciary services on a pro bono basis to soldiers in need, in recognition of the contributions and sacrifices made by all veterans of our armed forces.

  • Secured the appointment of co-guardians for two mentally challenged adult siblings and coordinated the clinical team report.
  • Successfully contested the appointment of an estranged son as the guardian of his elderly father and secured the appointment of non-related guardians in compliance with the ward's wishes. Assisted the buyer of residential real estate who had defaulted under a purchase agreement, negotiated with the seller to reinstate the agreement and obtained a financing commitment so that the sale transaction could be completed and the buyer would not lose her deposit funds, which represented her life savings.
  • Finalized the sale of residential real estate where the title was clouded by multiple estate and trust irregularities, which had occurred over a seven-year period, and successfully petitioned the Land Court to adopt a resolution so as to remedy a discrepancy between Land Court and Probate Court statutory dispositive guidelines.
  • Represented the leading manufacturer of optical filters in obtaining an equipment and working capital financing package in excess of $12 million.
  • Negotiated the creation of the first franchisee of an entrée preparation franchisor in the New England area, including all franchise documentation, creation of the franchisee's limited liability company, and assisted in securing leasehold premises and equipment financing.
  • Initiated, coordinated and completed a condominium conversion of a North End family apartment building where conflicting family interests had prevented any residential use of the building for over five years.
